DESCRIPTION:  This month we are hosting a Social that is outrageous, controversial, awe inspiring, funny, and of course filled with gourmet food and fellowship with your Miata friends.  And, because we are a driving club, it includes the shortest official Socalm run. Where are we going, you may ask?  Well, to guess that you have to ask yourself “What is the most fun a person can have on a warm summer’s eve with their favorite guy or gal?”  If you’re thinking Watch the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes play ball on July 18th then you, my friend, are reading my mind…..Yeah Baby!

Conveniently located in Rancho Cucamonga at the Epicenter Stadium, the Quakes are a minor league baseball team, and part of the Angeles farm system.  I know, some of you may be saying “I don’t like baseball.”  NOT TO WORRY! Even if you don’t like baseball you will thoroughly enjoy a Quakes game because you will:

  1. participate in the pre-game parade around the warning track inside the Epicenter Stadium (Officially, Socalm’s shortest sanctioned run, and be sure to practice your Queen Elizabeth wave for the throngs of adoring fans);
  2. thrill to the antics of the Club mascots, Quake and Aftershock;
  3. be entertained by the dancing Grounds Keepers;
  4. fight your way to a Quakes tee-shirt that has been fired from an air-cannon;
  5. play the Cucamonga Chuck game;
  6. and last, but not least, OOOO and AAAW at the amazing post game Fireworks Show.

A warm summer’s eve is the perfect time to relax and watch a ball game. The fireworks show at the end of this game is a perfect way to cap a great evening.  I only have 25 tickets, but if the response is strong I may be able to add to them. If you wish to join us, send me a check for $7.00 per ticket made out to ‘SOCALM’ and include a stamped self addressed envelope so I can mail you your tickets. Since we will be parading our cars before the game, special parking has been set aside for us behind the stadium.

DIRECTIONS: The Epicenter is located on Rochester Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Arrow Route. Coming from Los Angeles: I-10 East to Milliken Avenue exit and turn left. Follow Milliken Avenue to Arrow Route and turn right. The Epicenter is about a half mile down Arrow Route on the left side of the street.

Coming from San Diego: I-15 North to Foothill Boulevard exit and turn left. Turn left again at Rochester Avenue. The Epicenter is about one-quarter mile down Rochester on the right side of the street.

OK!!!  It’s official.  We have enough people for a party, and there is still plenty of room for others to join in.  Mark your calendar for the upcoming NOC Social. Come on out and join the fun and food at a world famous Quakes game. Add your names to the list:
